I think Morgan and Chuck couldn’t have made my 4AM alarm better. I spent the morning with these two walking around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. and Old Town Alexandria capturing their engagement photos, and let me tell you, it was such a fun time. I didn’t even feel like I got less sleep than usual (it was probably the Starbucks though, let’s be honest).
Amber and David’s Private Estate Wedding held in New Market, VA was even more amazing than I thought it would be! If you missed their engagement session, you can view that here.
Waiting 8 years, standing the test of time apart with deployments, graduations, and nursing school, they tied the knot on Saturday. Tears were shed, and emotions were all over the place. But I think Amber and David can agree on one thing: they are ecstatic to finally be married to their best friend.
Amber’s details were out of this world. There were so many little things that made their day that much more special. One of my favorite details that Amber included in her detail bag was a locket: as much as I’ve talked about these two standing the test of time, the locket was the perfect thing to symbolize that during their detail shots.
I’ve never done a “blind” letter reading before, but when Amber approached me and told me her and David wanted to read letters to each other behind a door, right before they walked down the aisle, I knew it was going to be a special moment for them. I found myself wiping away tears while they talked about the ups-and-downs of the last 8 years, and can’t imagine how they feel being able to finally marry each other.
Their family and friends made this day all the more special. Every single person I interacted with was filled with gratitude and joy, making my job so, SO easy. They truly know what the term hospitality means, and for that, I am so grateful.
Amber and David,
You two have shown me what marrying a best friend looks like (especially when killing insects inside of Amber’s dress during the wedding ceremony #dedicated). Thank you for welcoming me into your wedding day with open arms. Everybody involved in your day was a dream to work with, including you two, and I cannot say how happy I am to have captured the best day of your lives so far. I hope you enjoy some of the photos from yesterday, and cannot wait until you see your final gallery!! Enjoy <3
