I’m so excited to have photographed Ali and Austin’s special day at Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton, VA! The rainy weather was no match for these two, and I think you can tell from how they completely surrendered control and nailed their portraits in the midst of the rain. When I asked if it was okay if we ventured outside into the rain, Ali’s exact response was, “SURE! We’re only here once!” I’m so lucky to have couples that risk getting their wedding attire soaked just because I see a photographic opportunity (and they trust me enough to do so).

As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with absolute love from both Ali and Austin’s family! It was such an honor to be able to get to know their families a little bit during this time, and I just adore getting to know the families that this sweet couple came from. Family is such an important aspect during a wedding day, and these two made it clear how impeccable theirs are to them.

One of my favorite parts of their special day was the immense amount of intentionality that went into Ali’s details! The veil she wore was her mother’s, and the bouquet was wrapped in mementoes from her grandmother’s wedding day. It makes my heart so happy to know how supportive the women in Ali’s life are, and even more important that she felt it was important to incorporate those details into her special day.

I am so incredibly excited for these two and the journey that comes at the start of becoming a married couple — congrats, you two!
