It’s not everyday that you get to take your oldest sister’s maternity photos. And it’s not everyday that with every keystroke as I type this I have to hold in my excitement because I’m going to be an aunt SO SOON. I can’t exclaim how thankful I am that I get to be the one who captures this moment for my dear sister and brother-in-law. So to those reading this now, just know that a lot of time and thought went into the following post.

A little more than 4 years ago, I stood beside these two on one of the most important days of their lives. And from then on, they were like a second set of parents to me. FOR EXAMPLE: They set up literally my entire freshman dorm room, drove me to the hospital when I had abdominal pain, gave me ice cream when I had a root canal done, let me stay with them over the summer when I was in-between apartments, and provided all the wine + cheese when I went through my first major breakup. They welcomed me into their home, not because I was just family and because “it was the right thing to do”, but because God calls us to welcome, feed, cherish, and honor those that we have in our lives.

I was one of the first people to know about Alyssa’s pregnancy simply because I lived with her at the time, and after weeks of saying, “ALYSSA DO YOU REALIZE HOW DIFFICULT THIS IS FOR ME?!” she finally told me and let me tell everyone I knew (I was so needy it was like I was the one that’s pregnant….)

SO here’s to you, baby momma!! May you keep your glow, love, and kindness and show that to your little girl. She’s getting the best kindergarten teacher/ice cream enthusiast/daisy chain’/author/wife/older sister as the best mom. Enjoy your sneak peek photos!!

Although you’re not out of your momma’s tummy quite yet, I know that you are already surrounded with people that will love you unconditionally. I promise to provide you with endless amounts of cuddles, make sure that belly is always full, sneak you sugary snacks right before I send you back to your parents ;), and pray for you endlessly.
