When arriving at the Quemahoning Recreation Area for Adam and Ashley’s engagement session, I already knew their session was going to be wonderful! The beautiful fall leaves complemented by the 70 degree autumn day made for an optimistic perspective right from the start.
Adam and Ashley arrived with all the props that make up the essence of them as a couple. One of my favorites accents of their relationship was their combined love for music. They pulled out an acoustic guitar and concert ukulele and just started playing – almost as if they had practiced before đ Their sense of laughter and all around optimistic perspective on life made taking their photos extremely simple. Capturing their relationship as a couple consisted of them laughing, which (if you don’t know me) is my favorite thing!
One of my favorite conversations throughout their session was the story of their engagement. While at the beach, Adam & Ashley went out to a fancy dinner. Before they left, Adam surprised Ashley with an outfit for her to wear (every girl’s favorite thing) and they walked to a fancy Italian restaurant overlooking the ocean. Ashley said she knew it was going to happen during their trip, but was especially thinking that it would be during their dinner – I even assumed it was going to be during the dinner as they told me the story! I mean, it was overlooking the sunset on the ocean. Right after dinner, Adam suggested they talk a walk down to the pier. Thinking the proposal would happen then, Ashley was soon to be just a little disappointed when she realized they were actually just taking a walk. After their mile or so walk back to their hotel, Ashley said she walked back frustrated – why didn’t it happen then?! Later that same evening, Adam suggested they take a walk at night down to the ocean, when, right then and there, he bent down on one knee in the shallow water, and proposed. And just like that, Adam’s been surprising Ashley ever since.
I’m extremely excited to capture these two love birds on their wedding day in July 2018! Below are some of my favorite shots from their engagement session on Sunday.
